Live in NYC for Make Music New York – MMNY 2017

This is my 3rd year being part of the Make Music New York Music Festival! Year 1 and 2 I bounced around performing in Times Square, Harlem, Murray Hill, and the Lower West Side. So this year I booked shows in Brooklyn for a change of atmosphere. I performed at the Macon Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library for a crowd of adorable kids, their parents and other library patrons. They had a whole sound set up for me and the acoustics in the library made for a great sound and an even better performance. Then I headed over to Flatbush and performed at the intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand, right above one of the subway stations. It was crazy busy with people and it was great to see people stop and listen to my performance while in route to their destination. The Flatbush BID sponsored the sound and were great hosts.

Running around NYC with all your equipment, and friends is never easy but its always fun! My friend Tina who just so happens to be an amazing photographer took some amazing candids and my other friend Timea helped with set up and some fun BTS. It was a total girls day in NYC! After my performances we headed to Times Square for dinner and to just soak in all the lights. Im a super talkative person and about 5 minutes into a conversation with a group of NYPD I start freestyling a song about “Insomnia Cookies” this late night dessert spot they were recommending that just so happened to be too far away so I sang a song about their bad advice and how I wished I could taste the deliciousness that is “Insomnia Cookies” lol! Guess ya had to be there but it was AWESOME!

The random fun didn’t stop there, a guy professed his love for me in song so I played along with my ukulele and it was this magical hip hop, ukulele mash up of awesomeness lol!  While the love was one sided I enjoyed our duet…lol

While my plans to make one last stop to WhiteCastle on the way home was thwarted by  extreme exhaustion, I had a great time in NYC for the Make Music New York Music Festival and cant wait to see whats in store for next year!
